Build and curate the ontology, knowledge graph and grounding infrastructure that let AI agents understand IFS software and reason accurately over customer data, turning what the platform already knows about itself, plus deep industry expertise, into a semantic layer other engineers and agents can trust.Key responsibilities Design and build MCP servers (Model Context Protocol, the emerging standard for exposing application capability to agents) over the product’s business objects, treating capability modelling, discoverability, versioning and backward compatibility as first-class design problems. Build the write path that lets an agent safely change a customer’s operational data.
Design and build the semantic layer: an ontology and knowledge graph over the product, generated from what the platform already knows about itself and then curated industry by industry, in partnership with domain experts who turn tacit product knowledge into an explicit, machine-usable model.
Build the retrieval and grounding infrastructure that connects agents to this knowledge: embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, chunking and indexing strategies, memory architectures, and grounding techniques that keep agent outputs accurate and traceable to source.
Establish data quality, provenance and versioning practices for the knowledge graph, so changes are traceable and agent behaviour built on top of it doesn't silently drift.
Build the skills layer that maps what someone asks for onto the correct operation and the correct sequence, with a router that picks between them. Build the control plane: authentication, entitlements, agent identity, telemetry, metering, resistance to injection, and a default that denies rather than permits. Build the evaluation harness that certifies agent behaviour against the real product, and improve the system against what it measures. Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept to validate emerging technology, product opportunities and customer scenarios. Establish the engineering practices these systems need: evaluation, testing, observability, monitoring, governance, security and operational excellence. Contribute to technical design, review other engineers’ work, and support colleagues coming into the domain. Represent the work outside the team through customer engagements, demonstrations, industry events and partner collaboration. Strong software engineering first. Everything else is applied on top of that. Production experience building and operating enterprise systems, with real depth in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, API and schema design, event-driven systems, security, observability and CI/CD. Strong programming in a modern backend language.
Experience delivering AI systems built on large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows and orchestration frameworks, including tool use, function calling, workflow orchestration and autonomous or multi-agent architectures, with the judgement to know where they fail.
Deep, hands-on expertise in knowledge graphs and semantic modelling: ontology design (RDF/OWL/SKOS or property-graph equivalents), taxonomy and controlled-vocabulary design, entity resolution, schema evolution and versioning, embeddings, vector databases and grounding strategies.
Evaluation as a discipline: experimentation, benchmarking, prompt engineering, tracing, quality measurement and agent tuning, improving an agent against evidence rather than impression.
Ability to design solutions that integrate enterprise applications, business processes, workflows and data platforms.
Comfort working directly with domain experts to translate tacit business knowledge into explicit, machine-usable models.
Depth in at least one of the following:
Tool-surface and agent-runtime engineering. MCP servers, tool ecosystems, capability modelling, discoverability, governance, versioning, backward compatibility, multi-tenancy isolation.
Enterprise platform depth. Oracle PL/SQL, OData, and comfort working inside large metadata-driven systems where behaviour is configured rather than coded.
Desirable Experience with agent frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, LangGraph, AutoGen, PydanticAI, the OpenAI Agents SDK or CrewAI. Experience building reusable AI platforms, MCP ecosystems or shared engineering capabilities used across multiple products and teams. Containerised platforms and infrastructure automation: Docker, Kubernetes. Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP or another hyperscale cloud platform. Reverse-engineering or interpreter work. Token-efficient agent design. Enterprise software domains: enterprise asset management, service management, manufacturing, supply chain, aerospace and defence, energy, telecommunications, construction, industrial AI. Contributions to open-source projects, technical communities, conferences, publications or standards. We believe that coming together as a community, in person, is important for innovation, connection and fostering a sense of belonging. Our roles have the right balance of remote and in-office working to enable flexibility for managing your life along with ensuring a real connection with your colleagues and the broader IFS community. At IFS, we're building the next generation of AI-native enterprise software, transforming how some of the world's largest organisations manage assets, operations and critical services. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of modern AI engineering, building intelligent products that combine Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI and cloud-native technologies to solve complex, real-world business challenges at enterprise scale. We're looking for engineers who are passionate about building production AI systems and excited by the opportunity to shape the future of enterprise software. Director, Content Strategy
College Board – OCEO (Digital Product)Location:This is a remote role. Candidates who live near CB offices have theoptionof being fully remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). All CB employeesare required tooccasionally travel to meet in person for business purposes.Role Type:This is a full-time positionAbout the TeamThe Digital Product team is driving the evolution of College Board’s digital assessment experience. As AI reshapes education, we are preparing students for the future by ensuring our digital assessments remain secure, meaningful, and reflective of the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled world. At the heart of this strategic work, we are a collaborative group of product leaders, strategists, and innovators reimagining how digital assessments are delivered and experienced. Our work spans the full product lifecycle, from discovery and design to delivery and continuous improvement. We partner across the organization to ensure every solution we build improves outcomes for students, educators, and institutions.Every year, our platform delivers assessments to millions of students worldwide, providing opportunities that shape futures and open doors. Together, we are transforming College Board’s trusted assessment platform into a next-generation digital assessment experience that is secure, user-centered, and built to evolve with the future of learning and assessment.About the Opportunity
As Director, Content Strategy, you own and define the content strategy for one or more areas of College Board’s digital assessment platform. You set the approach before work starts, decide what “good” looks like within your domain, and are accountable for whether it lands. You bring both strong craft — writing, structure, information architecture — and a systems mindset: you think about how content works at scale, how editorial workflows can be more efficient, and how emerging tools (including AI) can improve how we discover, create, and govern content.
You’ll serve as the content strategy lead for one or more platform areas, owning end-to-end content work within those domains. You’ll also develop shared standards, tools, and processes that benefit the full team. You thrive in ambiguity, move work forward independently, and are genuinely energized by iteration — testing ideas, learning from users, and refining from there.
This is a role for someone who wants to help build something — not just execute against a fully defined playbook. You’ll have real influence over how content strategy is practiced at College Board, including how we harness AI to work smarter.
In this role, you will:
Own Content Strategy for One or More Platform Areas (40%)
Set the content strategy and approach for one or more areas of the digital assessment platform — defining what good looks like before work starts, and owning outcomes when it does or doesn’t land.
Prioritize and scope the content work across your domains based on user risk and platform impact.
Create clear, user-centered content for product experiences, including in-product UI copy, instructions, onboarding flows, and contextual help.
Recommend shared content standards — voice, tone, terminology, accessibility — backed by user evidence, ensuring consistency across your areas and the broader platform.
Translate user research, analytics, and feedback into content hypotheses and iterative improvements, grounding decisions in evidence.
Manage your content workstreams independently: identifying gaps, raising risks early, and keeping work moving across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Drive Information Architecture and Platform Coherence (20%)
Own and evolve information architecture, navigation models, and content structures within and across your domains, partnering with UX designers and content engineers.
Recommend taxonomy, labeling systems, and content patterns — backed by user evidence — that improve coherence across the full platform experience.
Lead discovery, design critiques, and cross-functional workshops to drive creative alignment on your project teams.
Ensure that content decisions in your areas connect to and reinforce the broader platform strategy.
Redesign Editorial Processes and Content Operations (20%)
Lead the design and improvement of editorial workflows — how content moves through creation, review, approval, and publishing across the team.
Recommend solutions to reduce bottlenecks, clarify ownership, and improve the consistency and quality of content outputs.
Perform hands-on content work in the CMS, including content entry, structuring, and lifecycle management.
Develop new content governance efforts — versioning, archiving, standards maintenance — as the platform matures.
Evaluate and shape how AI tools can improve content discovery, drafting, and workflow efficiency — and bring both curiosity and pragmatism to that work.
Build a High-Performing Content Strategy Practice (20%)
Bring evidence-backed recommendations to the Senior Director on strategy, priorities, and ways of working across the team.
Build consistency and quality across the content strategy practice by developing shared approaches, templates, and best practices.
Be open to coaching and feedback — and offer the same to colleagues — as part of a culture of craft and continuous improvement.
During test administration windows, lead content messaging updates for any widespread issues our users encounter. This role will include some after-hours/weekend work.
Support onboarding and collaboration as the team grows.
About You
To qualify for this role, you must have:
5–8 years of experience in content strategy, UX writing, or product content design, ideally in complex digital product or platform environments.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio that demonstrates clarity, judgment, and range across digital product contexts.
Experience working closely with UX designers on information architecture and content structure — not just writing copy but shaping how information is organized and navigated.
The ability to independently own and drive content work within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Familiarity with editorial workflows and content operations — experience contributing to or improving how content gets made, reviewed, and published.
Hands-on experience with CMS platforms and content management processes.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to give and receive direct feedback as part of everyday work.
Comfort operating in iterative, evolving environments where the playbook is still being written.
The ability to travel 3–5 times a year to College Board offices or on behalf of College Board business.
Preferred:
Experience on large-scale or platform-based digital products where content decisions have systemic implications.
Familiarity with structured content, taxonomy, or content modeling.
Experience with or genuine curiosity about AI tools applied to content workflows, discovery, or creation.
Background in content governance or lifecycle management as a product matures.
All roles at College Board require:
A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work
Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and comfort with learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively.
Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal
A learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receivingtimely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input.
A drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarking.
A collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared success
