Fast Math does not rely on repetition through endless worksheets to make students faster. Your role is to pinpoint the precise barriers preventing students from achieving math fluency, then leverage AI to reconstruct the learning experience so that accurate calculation becomes second nature.2 Hour Learning enables students to master core academics in far less time than a traditional school day. You will concentrate on our Fast Math program, analyzing student performance data, platform metrics, assessment outcomes, and student work to uncover what is obstructing fluency and fact mastery. The issue could be inadequate sequencing, an incorrect practice pattern, a missing scaffold, insufficient feedback, or an intervention that does not address the root misconception. This role involves direct, hands-on work. You will apply LLMs, AI-assisted content generation, no-code workflows, and agentic AI tools to refine practice sequences, explanations, assessments, scaffolds, and interventions. Success is defined by students transitioning from effortful calculation to fast, accurate, and automatic performance. If you are ready to use AI daily to produce measurable improvements in mathematical fluency, apply now. What You Will Be DoingIdentify recurring gaps in math fluency, fact mastery, speed, and accuracy by analyzing performance data, assessments, platform metrics, and student work.Determine what is blocking automaticity, whether it is weak sequencing, missing scaffolds, ineffective practice, inadequate feedback, flawed assessments, or unsuccessful interventions.Apply LLMs, no-code workflows, and agentic AI tools to redesign practice sequences, explanations, scaffolds, and interventions within Fast Math.Refine questions, answer explanations, distractors, rubrics, and assessments to surface misconceptions and measure mastery with precision.Review AI-generated or AI-modified materials to ensure mathematical accuracy, appropriate grade level, clarity, rigor, and alignment with Alpha's learning science standards. What You Won’t Be DoingCreating repetitive drill exercises without verifiable evidence that they enhance fluency or automaticity.Developing one-off lesson plans that appear polished but fail to shift mastery data.Halting at analysis. You will locate the learning gap, reconstruct the material, and assess whether the revision succeeded.Overseeing a traditional curriculum program, performing administrative tasks, or managing a protracted review cycle.Developing education software products. Your focus is the math learning experience, not the application codebase.Mathematics Instructional Designer Key ResponsibilitiesAccelerate K-12 math fluency through continuous improvement of Fast Math curriculum, practice, assessments, scaffolds, and interventions, driving students toward accurate and automatic calculation.Basic RequirementsBachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Math, Engineering, Physics, or another quantitative field.3+ years of experience in math instruction, math curriculum development, assessment development, educational content creation, or learning design, with particular emphasis on building math fluency and fact mastery and guiding students toward automaticity in four-function math.Strong K-12 math subject expertise, including accuracy, rigor, sequencing, misconceptions, fluency development, and grade-level expectations.Practical knowledge of learning science or instructional design, such as mastery learning, direct instruction, scaffolding, cognitive load, retrieval practice, or deliberate practice.Experience using AI tools to enhance educational work, such as LLMs, AI-assisted content generation, no-code workflows, coding/API-based tools, or agentic AI tools.Ability to analyze student learning data to identify fluency barriers and improve curriculum, assessments, practice, scaffolding, or interventions.Excellent written communication skills, particularly in explaining mathematical concepts with clarity and precision.Nice-to-have RequirementsDirect experience designing programs or interventions focused on arithmetic fluency, fact mastery, or automaticity.Experience with LLM APIs for content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning work.Experience building or improving math assessments that surface misconceptions, not just procedural accuracy.Experience sharing education, math, or AI insights in an online community, such as Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or a public knowledge base.About 2 Hour LearningEducation is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. They’re tearing down the outdated one-size-fits-all model and replacing it with AI-driven personalized learning that helps kids master academics in just two hours a day. With students consistently ranking in the top 1-2% nationally and the top 20% achieving an astonishing 6.5x growth, they’re proving that smarter learning is possible. At 2 Hour Learning, it’s talent and performance that matter. They offer a dynamic, on-campus and remote-friendly environment where innovators, educators, and AI specialists can be a part of fixing a broken school system.2 Hour Learning is reprogramming learning for the AI era. Here’s How They’re Fixing It.There is so much to cover for this exciting role, and space here is limited. 🚀 About UsWe’re Bolt.new by StackBlitz! We’re the team that brought you WebContainers, the first-of-its-kind technology that made it possible to run Node.js right inside your browser. That breakthrough kicked off our journey in 2019, and it’s what powers the blazing-fast online IDE used by over 1 million developers every month. But we didn’t stop there. We doubled down on everything we learned and built Bolt.new — the fastest way to go from idea to production without writing traditional code. It’s a next-gen, AI-powered app builder that helps you create, edit, and deploy full-stack web and mobile apps instantly, right in your browser. No installs. No setup. Just smart automation and instant dev environments that let you move at the speed of thought. We’re a fully remote team, globally distributed, deeply collaborative, and seriously passionate about building the future of software development. This is your chance to join a small team with a big vision. If you love shipping fast, solving real problems, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we’d love to meet you.✨ About This OpportunityBolt is a product made of language. People describe what they want in words, an agent builds it, and they judge the result without ever reading the code. That makes our words load-bearing in a way they aren't in most products. It also means there's real craft available in nearly every surface, because we've grown fast and written as we go. Nobody is ahead of you in deciding what great looks like. You'll be the first content designer at Bolt, and the job has two halves.Own content as a discipline. Define the standard: the voice, the patterns, the vocabulary, and the reasons behind them. Then raise the bar on everyone else's words, most of which come from people who aren't designers. Your value here is leverage, not volume. Success looks like PMs and engineers writing better content without you in the room.Ship content-led features end to end, on your own. Not on day one. We have real content debt, and your first months go to the standard. After that, this becomes the other half of the job: feature onboarding, in-product education, the moments where a value prop has to land. Nobody is assigned to turn your thinking into screens. You're the design DRI, in Figma or with agentic tools, through to shipped. We move fast, and the problems are ambiguous. If the second half reads as daunting rather than fun, this isn't your role. If it's the job you've been waiting for someone to hand you, we should talk.🛠️ How You'll ContributeSet the standard and make it the default. Define Bolt's product voice, terminology, and patterns for the moments that repeat: prompts, errors, empty states, permissions, billing, settings. Then put it where the work happens, in the design system, in components, in internal agents, so good copy holds up at the speed we ship.Raise the bar on everyone's words. Review writing from across the company and give feedback that improves people's judgment, not only the sentence in front of you.Own the content strategy. Bring a point of view on what we should say, when, and how much. Shape product direction from problem definition rather than copy-editing at the end.Ship content-led features end to end. Feature onboarding, in-product education, the moments where a value prop has to land. You're the design DRI: you scope it, design it in Figma or build it with agentic tools, and drive it through implementation without a product design partner.Work across the whole lifecycle. Partner with Marketing and CX so that what we say before someone arrives, inside the product, and after they hit a problem all reinforce each other.💡 QualificationsA portfolio of product content work with at least two examples where you can show the problem, your reasoning, what you rejected, and what changed after it shipped. Complex products, real scale. We care more about judgment than polish. You can take a content-led feature from problem to shipped without a product designer. That means designing it in Figma, or building it with agentic tools, to a standard we'd actually ship. If your process depends on someone else turning your words into screens, this role will frustrate us both. You've built a standard, a system, or a set of guidelines that other people actually used. Bonus points if you've watched one fail and can explain why.You can give feedback that lands, including to people outside design who didn't ask for it and don't share your vocabulary, and to other writers as a peer rather than a manager.Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required, as this role involves frequent collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and customers where English is the primary working language.🎯 Bonus PointsStartup or small team experience. You are not just one of many!Experience shaping AI tools, or writing for products where the interface is a conversation.Experience writing for product, marketing and support content, or migrating knowledge between them.Consumer product experience.📌 A Few NotesYou do not need a college degree to apply You do not need to be located in the U.S. — we’re remote-friendly You do not need to meet every qualification listed above Show more Show less Seniority level Entry level Employment type Full-time Job function Marketing, Public Relations, and Writing/Editing Industries Software Development

We can begin processing for candidates who do not hold one.Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship requiredLocation: Ashburn, VASalary Range: [Pending]Signing Bonus: $10,000 for candidates with an active CBP BI. Payable after 90 days; standard terms apply.Travel: Rare, as neededThe RoleU.S. Customs and Border Protection runs continuous operations across more than 300 land, air, and sea ports of entry, plus Border Patrol stations and the Air and Marine Operations Center. Documentation in an environment like that is not a filing exercise. When something fails at three in the morning at a site nobody can reach quickly, the person working the problem needs a procedure that is correct, current, and findable. A document that is out of date does more damage than no document at all, because somebody will trust it. You are the person who makes that reliable. You will work with network, cloud, security, and field deployment engineers to turn what they know into documentation people use, and carry the program's required deliverables through federal review. Two things are worth knowing before you apply. The systems will change while you are writing about them, so anything you build has to assume revision rather than completion. And the engineers who hold the knowledge are busy and under change control, which means getting what you need from them is a skill this job depends on more than it depends on prose. What Success Looks LikeObjective 1: In the first 90 days, find out which documents people actually use and which they have quietly stopped trustingYou can name the documents an engineer opens during an incident, and the ones they skip and whyYou have mapped what exists against what the program is required to produceYou have stopped maintaining at least one thing nobody readsObjective 2: By month six, cut the time engineers spend answering the same question twiceQuestions that used to route to one specific person get answered by something findableNew team members reach useful work without booking time with whoever holds the knowledgeA search for a current procedure returns the current version rather than three candidatesEngineers send people to the documentation instead of explaining it again themselvesObjective 3: Get deliverables through review without a rework cycleDocuments required by the contract arrive complete and on scheduleReviewers ask about substance rather than returning things over format and completenessHandling and marking requirements are correct before a document leaves the teamObjective 4: Leave a documentation practice that keeps up with a system that changesUpdating the document is part of making the change rather than something that happens afterward, if anyone remembersContent that has gone stale is visible as stale rather than quietly wrongTemplates and standards exist that other people follow, so quality does not depend on who happened to write itWhat You BringPreferred ExperienceYou have documented technical systems you were not an expert in, and can describe how you got up to speedYou have worked on a federal program and know in practice what handling controlled information requiresYou have built documentation standards that outlasted your own involvementYou have gotten busy engineers to contribute to documentation without having any authority over themYou hold an active CBP BI, a fitness determination at another DHS component, or an active DoD clearance. Any of these shortens your start dateYou work fluently in Markdown, Confluence, SharePoint, and a standard document toolchainA portfolio of documents people actually used tells us more than a certification doesA note on timingWe are staffing this program now. If you already hold an active CBP BI and EOD, your start date is short and a $10,000 signing bonus comes with the role, payable after 90 days under standard terms. We would like to talk this week. If you do not, we can begin processing a CBP BI for you. That takes months rather than weeks, so applying now means joining a pipeline rather than starting immediately. We would rather tell you that up front than have you find out after you apply.Employee BenefitsAgile's benefits offerings include, dependent upon position, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, short-term and long-term Disability, Retirement and Learning and Development opportunities as well as other optional benefit elections. Our Core Values Employees of Agile Defense are our number one priority, and the importance we place on our culture here is fundamental.
