Success in this role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring high standards of quality, usability, and compliance across learning and web-based resources.What You Need To KnowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.Cover Letter & Resume: A cover letter and resume are strongly recommended.QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education and instruction, curriculum and instruction, communications, digital media, web design/development or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Two years of related professional experience in instructional design, instructional technology, faculty or professional development, website administration/content management, digital communications or a related area. Preferred QualificationsMaster’s or doctoral degree in instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum and instruction, education, UX/UI design, communications, digital media, web design/development or a related field. Five or more years of professional experience in instructional design, higher education, training and development, faculty development, web content management, digital communications or related work. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop and implement innovative, engaging and accessible online, hybrid and face-to-face learning content. Demonstrated experience developing professional development experiences for faculty, academic leaders or other adult learners. Experience administering and maintaining websites using contemporary content management systems such as WordPress, Cascade or similar platforms. Knowledge of website accessibility requirements, usability principles, information architecture, digital content strategy and web quality assurance practices. Experience using website analytics, accessibility and quality-assurance tools such as Google Analytics and Siteimprove. Experience developing or curating multimedia assets that enhance learning and digital user experiences, including audio, video, graphics and other media. Experience facilitating meetings, workshops and professional development experiences for individuals and groups in both in-person and online environments. Proficiency with Canvas and contemporary learning technologies. Working knowledge of HTML and CSS and familiarity with JavaScript and related web technologies. Knowledge of search engine optimization and web content best practices. Knowledge of project management practices and tools. Strong writing and editing skills with demonstrated ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, accessible and user-centered instructional and digital content. Experience working in a higher education environment. Ability to learn and effectively use new instructional, web and digital technologiesResponsibilities Webmaster, Website Operations & Digital Content Management - Serves as the primary webmaster for Faculty Affairs web properties and provides day-to-day front-end website administration, content publishing, maintenance and quality assurance. Creates, edits, formats, updates and publishes web content using university-supported content management systems and related digital tools. Maintains web pages, navigation, links, documents, forms, multimedia and other digital content to ensure information remains accurate, current, accessible and functional. Works with Faculty Affairs leadership, program owners and content contributors to translate organizational priorities, programs and user needs into effective website content, structure and presentation. Applies principles of information architecture, usability, digital accessibility, search engine optimization and web content strategy to improve navigation, readability, discoverability and user experience. Reviews web content, page layouts and digital assets for consistency with Texas A&M brand standards, university web standards and accessibility requirements. Conducts routine website quality assurance and identifies and addresses broken links, outdated information, formatting inconsistencies, accessibility issues and other front-end problems. Supports ongoing digital accessibility compliance through website reviews, audits, remediation and follow-up in coordination with appropriate university accessibility, communications and technology partners. Uses Siteimprove, web analytics and other available reporting tools to evaluate website quality, usage and performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Monitors website content and performance and recommends improvements to content, navigation, page structure, usability, accessibility and other aspects of the user experience. Troubleshoots front-end website and publishing issues and coordinates platform, hosting, development or other technical issues with Central Web Services, university IT or other appropriate partners. Supports website enhancements, redesigns, migrations and other digital initiatives through content preparation, implementation, testing, quality assurance and rollout. Maintains website documentation, publishing procedures, content standards and review practices for Faculty Affairs web properties. Provides guidance and support to Faculty Affairs employees who contribute or maintain web content, including assistance with accessibility, page structure, content presentation, digital assets and publishing practices. Coordinates website content lifecycle activities, including scheduled content reviews, updates, archival and removal of outdated or obsolete materials. Maintains awareness of university web standards, digital accessibility requirements, CMS capabilities and emerging web practices and recommends appropriate improvements to Faculty Affairs web properties.Instructional Design & Faculty Development - Plans, develops and delivers learning resources and professional development experiences for faculty and academic leaders, including guides, online modules, microlearning, templates, workshops, presentations and other instructional materials. Assesses learning and performance needs by identifying challenges, gathering and analyzing relevant information, determining potential solutions and making recommendations. Designs faculty-centered solutions appropriate to identified needs, ranging from individual resources, tools or workshops to multi-part learning experiences, certificate programs and other structured professional development initiatives. Authors original content and modifies existing materials in collaboration with subject matter experts to create clear, engaging and effective faculty-focused learning experiences. Applies adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies in the development of in-person, online and hybrid professional development. Develops instructional strategies, activities, scenarios, case studies and assessments that support defined learning objectives and desired outcomes. Takes ownership of assigned instructional design initiatives and follows projects through development, implementation, evaluation and completion.Quality Assurance, Accessibility & Continuous Improvement - Creates, reviews and revises instructional and professional development materials to support compliance with applicable accessibility standards and best practices, including ADA, Section 508, WCAG and Universal Design for Learning principles. Reviews learning resources and related materials for accessibility, usability, consistency, accuracy and alignment with quality standards in higher education. Applies accessibility design principles throughout the development process rather than relying solely on post-development remediation. Collects and evaluates feedback from faculty, academic leaders, clients, subject matter experts and project teams during and following implementation of learning experiences. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and recommends enhancements to instructional content, delivery methods, learning technologies and related resources. Incorporates assessment results, learner feedback and stakeholder input into revisions and future development.Technology Integration & Innovation - Assists the Center director in developing and implementing strategies to identify potential customers. Identifies and recommends appropriate learning technologies, digital tools, platforms and delivery methods to support faculty and academic leader development. Applies current practices and emerging innovations to the planning and development of multimedia learning assets, including audio, video, graphics, interactive content and other digital media. Administers and maintains online professional development resources and learning environments. Supports the effective integration of learning technologies with Faculty Affairs websites and other digital platforms. Researches emerging instructional design practices, technologies and trends and evaluates their potential application to Faculty Affairs programs and services. Provides recommendations for enhancements or revisions to learning materials, delivery methods and instructional practices based on emerging technologies, evaluation findings and learner needs.Project Management & Collaboration - Manages assigned instructional design and professional development projects and effectively prioritizes workload to meet established deadlines and project objectives. Coordinates projects from initial needs assessment and planning through development, stakeholder review, implementation and evaluation. Owns end-to-end creation of key learning assets, including presentations, facilitator materials, scenarios and case studies, video scripts, assessment instruments, templates and other resources. Collaborates with faculty, academic leaders, subject matter experts, communications professionals, instructional designers, technology professionals and other university partners. Facilitates project discussions, gathers requirements, coordinates reviews and resolves issues that may affect successful project completion.
