Job Description

  • The Localization Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality multilingual content by managing translated content assets, tracking quality-related feedback, and monitoring vendor performance.
  • This role works closely with localization project managers, language service providers, and technical writing team members to ensure translated content is delivered accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with organizational standards.
  • This position is intended for an early-career localization professional interested in developing expertise in localization operations, language technology, content management, and translation quality management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Localization Content and Quality Management
  • Manage and maintain translated content within the Content Management System (CMS) and the Translation Management System (TMS).
  • Coordinate the import, export, and publication of multilingual content throughout the localization project lifecycle.
  • Ensure content assets, translation memories, and linguistic resources are properly maintained and updated.
  • Review, document, and track linguistic comments, quality issues, and stakeholder feedback through resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal reviewers and localization vendors to ensure consistent implementation of approved linguistic changes.
  • Maintain records of quality issues, resolutions, and corrective actions.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Track and analyze linguist and vendor performance metrics, including quality scores, turnaround times, and issue trends.
  • Maintain localization operational data and develop data visualizations to communicate localization performance and quality trends to leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, localization, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in the translation, localization, or language services industry.
  • Experience with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, Translation Management System (TMS), with XTM and/or Trados Enterprise strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with DITA XML structured authoring, Content Management Systems (CMS), with Tridion Docs strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of translation quality management processes and localization best practices.
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or regulated-content industries is a plus.
