Consultant - Stakeholder Engagement, Policy and Knowledge Translation Specialist

Theoverall objective of this consultancy is to strengthen stakeholder engagement,policy influence and knowledge translation across the initiative, ensuring thattechnical outputs contribute to evidence-informed decision-making and supportthe implementation of national and continental soil health priorities.

Specifically,the consultant will:

• Strengthenstakeholder engagement across the initiative by designing, supporting andfacilitating inclusive engagement processes that support the co-development ofnational soil health priorities, frameworks and use cases.
  
• Supportpolicy engagement by strengthening collaboration with governments, the AfricanUnion Commission, CGIAR centres, development partners and other strategicstakeholders to ensure that project outputs contribute to national, regionaland continental policy processes.
  
• Contributeto the translation of technical evidence into accessible knowledge products,including policy briefs, technical briefs, and guidance documents that supportpolicy uptake and implementation.
  
• Increasethe visibility and influence of the initiative by supporting engagement inregional and international policy processes and events, including the AfricaFertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan (AFSH), CAADP, the Africa Food SystemsForum, UNCCD, UNFCCC, the UN Food Systems Summit and other relevant platforms.

• Theconsultant will work across multiple technical workstreams within theinitiative to strengthen the interface between science, policy andimplementation.
  
• Therole will support the planning and delivery of stakeholder engagement processesthroughout the initiative, including stakeholder mapping, consultation design,workshop facilitation and multi-stakeholder dialogue. This will includeorganising and supporting workshops and consultations to identify and validatepriority soil health challenges, policy gaps and opportunities forstrengthening national soil health frameworks and soil data systems.
  
• Workingclosely with technical specialists, the consultant will contribute to thedevelopment, review and quality assurance of technical briefs, policy briefs,guidance documents, training materials and other strategic knowledge products.The consultant will provide oversight to ensure that technical outputs areclearly communicated, policy-relevant and tailored to the needs ofdecision-makers and implementing partners.
  
• Increasethe initiative’s visibility and influence by supporting strategic engagement inregional and international policy processes, events, and platforms, includingthe Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan, CAADP, the Africa FoodSystems Forum, UNCCD, UNFCCC, the UN Food Systems Summit, and other relevantfora.
  
• Theconsultancy will also strengthen partnerships across the initiative throughregular engagement with AUDA-NEPAD, the African Union Commission, nationalgovernments, research organisations, development partners and other strategicstakeholders. This includes supporting the Soil Health Monitoring Task Forceand other technical working groups to ensure strong coordination and alignmentwith continental priorities.
