Technical Writer 2Experience: 3 - 6 Years📍 Location: Hyderabad, India | Hybrid – 3 Days in the OfficeAbout the RoleThe Technical Writer creates and maintains software documentation for Hyland's products, ensuring that all content is well written, accurate, and clearly reflects the behavior of the software. This role partners closely with R&D, product, and editorial teams to deliver high-quality documentation that supports both internal and external audiences.This is a role for someone who combines strong writing skills with genuine technical curiosity — someone who takes pride in clarity, accuracy, and producing documentation that makes complex software approachable and easy to understand.Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.Research, build, and maintain knowledge about products, services, technology, and concepts to create accurate, well-structured documentation for new and moderately complex software products.Update and edit existing product documentation to reflect software changes, ensuring all content conforms to established quality standards for structure, content, and style before submission to the editorial team.Meet with subject matter experts, attend relevant meetings, and collaborate with R&D colleagues to verify that documentation accurately reflects software behavior and product functionality.Ensure software is functioning as expected; escalate identified bugs, software design issues, and usability concerns to the appropriate R&D stakeholders and drive issues toward timely resolution.Actively participate in discussions regarding product direction and design; proactively seek information about product development to anticipate and prepare for upcoming software changes.Identify and troubleshoot issues within the authoring environment; use experience to make informed, quality-focused decisions — with minimal guidance — that improve the layout, accuracy, and overall functionality of assigned documentation.Role EssentialsBachelor's degree, preferably in English or Technical Communication, with demonstrated working experience writing concise, grammatically correct, and well-structured technical documentation for software products.Working experience with desktop authoring and publishing tools, with a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to additional tools required for the role; strong technical aptitude and a dedication to producing high-quality, accurate documentation.Strong editing skills and exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and consistency across all documentation — including adherence to established standards for structure, content, and style.Good interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a history of building productive working relationships with subject matter experts, R&D colleagues, and cross-functional teams to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.Good oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact; strong decision-making skills with the ability to make informed, independent judgments that improve documentation quality.What We'd Like to SeeStrong ability to install, use, configure, and troubleshoot software, with experience identifying and resolving issues within authoring environments — independently or with minimal guidance from documentation leadership.Experience actively contributing to product direction and design discussions, with the ability to proactively anticipate upcoming software changes and prepare documentation ahead of release cycles.Demonstrated ability to perform advanced technical writing tasks, including contributing to documentation process improvements and taking on complex assignments as determined in collaboration with documentation team management.Experience escalating and driving resolution of software bugs, design issues, and usability concerns to the appropriate R&D stakeholders, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to product quality.Familiarity with Agile or iterative software development environments, with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and deliver high-quality content within defined timelines.About HylandHyland is the pioneer of the Content Innovation Cloud™, delivering ubiquitous enterprise intelligence to organizations with solutions that unlock actionable insights and drive automation.© Hyland.
