Role Description This full-time remote Technical Writer role is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation for XYZ AI Inc.’s AI products and internal tools. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and maintaining product guides, API documentation, technical specifications, and release notes in collaboration with engineering and product teams. The Technical Writer will interview subject matter experts, analyze complex technical information, and translate it into structured content suitable for developers, business users, and non-technical audiences. The role also involves organizing and standardizing documentation repositories, improving templates and style guides, and ensuring consistency and accessibility across all technical materials. Additionally, the Technical Writer will help refine onboarding materials and training resources to support internal teams and external customers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in technical writing and documentation, including Technical Writing, Technical Documentation, and Documentation.
- Experience with user-facing instructional content such as Manuals and formal Technical Communication materials.
- Strong ability to understand software architecture, APIs, and AI/ML concepts and explain them clearly to varied audiences.
- Proficiency with documentation tools and formats (e.g., Markdown, HTML, wikis, version control systems such as Git).
- Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to follow and contribute to style guides and documentation standards.
- Comfort working remotely, managing multiple projects, and collaborating across time zones with engineers, designers, and product managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, English) or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience documenting AI, software development tools, or SaaS products is highly beneficial.
