Author and edit technical publications including flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation for defense projects.
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, hardware specs, software requirements, and test procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with MIL standards.
Collaborate with engineering personnel through interviews to gather precise technical information.
Work independently or with moderate supervision on complex projects, setting objectives to meet deadlines and budgets.
Guide entry-level staff and support team efforts in documentation processes.
Maintain strong communication with colleagues, stakeholders, and customers.
Utilize computer skills, including MS Office, with familiarity in S1000D standards, Webex authoring, and CSDB systems preferred.
Obtain and sustain a Secret DoD clearance.
Qualifications
Bachelorβs degree with 2+ years of technical publication experience or graduate degree with up to 2 years of experience.
Alternatively, 6+ years of relevant experience in structured authoring environments if no degree.
Experience with unstructured/structured FrameMaker and structured authoring tools preferred.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain security clearance.
