Role: Technical Writer β Banking Domain (LoanIQ / DEAL)
Location: Ottawa / Toronto (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with expertise in Banking and Lending platforms to create, maintain, and govern high-quality documentation for the DEAL platform, LoanIQ, and associated banking systems. The role requires translating complex business and technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation that supports operational users, technology teams, and new joiners.
The ideal candidate should possess strong documentation skills, experience with Confluence, and a solid understanding of banking workflows, lending operations, and enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. LoanIQ & DEAL Documentation
- Create, maintain, and enhance comprehensive documentation for DEAL and LoanIQ processes.
- Convert existing knowledge, business processes, and SME inputs into structured Confluence pages.
- Document:
- Business process flows
- Functional features and capabilities
- System workflows
- User guides
- Operating procedures
- FAQs and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, SMEs, Product Owners, and Technology teams to gather and validate information.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and up to date with system enhancements and process changes.
2. Onboarding & Knowledge Management
- Design and maintain onboarding material for:
- LoanIQ
- DEAL Platform
- Other Banking and Lending systems
- Create role-based onboarding guides for:
- Business Users
- Operations Teams
- Technology Teams
- New Joiners
- Develop learning paths, quick-start guides, reference manuals, and training content.
- Support knowledge transfer sessions and onboarding workshops.
- Establish documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
3. Documentation Governance
- Maintain centralized documentation repositories within Confluence.
- Ensure version control and adherence to documentation standards.
- Review and improve existing documentation for clarity, completeness, and usability.
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify documentation gaps and drive continuous improvement.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Lending Operations, Business Analysts, Product Teams, Developers, and QA teams.
- Participate in requirement discussions and solution walkthroughs to understand system changes.
- Translate technical and business information into content suitable for multiple audiences.
