In this role, you will develop clear, accurate, and compliant documentation for users, service engineers, systems operations teams, and other technical stakeholders while partnering closely with product managers, engineers, project managers, and technical support teams.

Why This Role Matters

Technical documentation is essential in the highly regulated medical device industry. Your work will help ensure Ascom meets requirements for the distribution, collection, storage, maintenance, and accuracy of product documentation. By translating complex technical information into clear, usable content, you will support regulatory compliance, product quality, customer success, and the effective use of Ascom solutions.

What You’ll Own

  • Write, distribute, collect, store, and maintain documentation required for Ascom products and offerings.
  • Produce high-quality technical documents, including data sheets, installation and configuration instructions, user manuals, and system documentation.
  • Ensure regulatory and quality requirements for Instructions for Use and related documentation are met.
  • Maintain Ascom’s document publishing platform and support effective electronic delivery of documentation.
  • Lead documentation reviews, ensure content remains accurate and current, and revise outdated materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, project managers, and technical support teams to gather and validate technical information.
  • Support user documentation design, consistency, readability, conciseness, cost effectiveness, and development timelines in alignment with operational and quality guidelines.
  • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to contractors and new employees working with user documentation.

What Sets You Up For Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in information design or a related field, or equivalent competence gained through experience.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical documentation, technical writing, documentation content development, or a related area.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to create materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to understand product features, benefits, use cases, and technical information across Ascom’s product portfolio.
  • Experience developing content that supports software product sales, implementation, support, and end-user adoption.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and electronic documentation publishing platforms.
  • Proficiency in proofreading, editing, and maintaining documentation accuracy, consistency, grammar, formatting, and readability.
  • Understanding of change control processes and documentation updates in a regulated or technology-based environment.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools for graphic design and multimedia support is preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
