Who are we
Werk Society is a boutique performance marketing agency based in Silverdale, Auckland.
We run paid advertising, organic social and email marketing for owner-operator e-commerce brands in New Zealand and Australia, across categories including kids' apparel, homewares, jewellery, baby and outdoor.
The role
This role is based is in house only, based in Silverdale, Auckland. You will plan and create content for social feeds, and you will help design assets like EDMs, graphic overlays, statics, carousels and campaign creative.
Content creation is the overarching role, but design is a big part of it. This role offers genuine creative freedom. You will be trusted to take a brand, understand its audience, and build content and design work that looks and sounds like it belongs to them, not to us. Some weeks you will be on location shooting product with a client. Others you will be at your desk building a month of content, designing an EDM campaign and getting ahead of the calendar.
You will work directly with Tyla [founder] and alongside our paid media team, using our ad performance data to help form your content plans. Above all, you will live and breathe social media. You will know what is working on each platform right now and why, and you will bring those ideas to us rather than waiting to be briefed.
Content:
- On-location shoots: Travel to client sites to shoot photo and video content. You will own the brief, the shot list and the day.
- Shooting content: Film lo-fi and considered content, B-roll, product and lifestyle, on phone and camera.
- Directing talent: Direct clients and team members on camera so the content matches the brief.
- Content library: Keep footage, assets and project files organised so nothing gets shot twice.
- Video editing: Cut short-form video for Instagram and TikTok with strong hooks, pacing and platform-native feel.
- Content planning: Build and own monthly organic content calendars across a portfolio of clients, mapped to their launches, promotions and seasonal moments.
- Performance: Track what performed, understand why, and feed that back into next month's plan.
Graphic Design & EDMs
- EDM design: Design basic email campaigns for our e-commerce clients
- Graphic overlays: Add text, motion graphics, callouts and branded overlays to video content so it stops the scroll and reads clearly on mute.
- Static and campaign assets: Build carousels, story graphics, statics and ad creative that are on brand and to a high standard.
- Occasional print and collateral: Design the odd piece of print, packaging insert or event collateral when a client needs it.
Systems & Collaboration
- Process: Build and improve the way content and design gets briefed, made, approved and scheduled so it scales as we take on more clients.
- Cross-functional work: Partner with our paid media team so organic, email and paid tell the same story, and flag content worth putting spend behind.
- Client-ready work: Present concepts and design work clearly so clients can approve quickly and reviews stay short.
- Tool adoption: Test new tools and techniques, AI included, and bring what works into how we operate.
