About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER / INFORMATION ARCHITECT will manage complex technical content and the information architecture for a large internal healthcare platform knowledge site housing over 10,000 knowledge objects. This role involves producing architecture guides, API references, and conceptual documentation in collaboration with engineering teams, while maintaining documentation structure, navigation, and standards. The position ensures consistency and quality of technical content, mentors writing staff, and supports the platform’s scalability and usability.

Responsibilities:

• Create complex technical content including architecture and API documentation
• Manage information architecture, template systems, and content frameworks
• Lead cross-team content reviews and uphold content quality standards
• Mentor writers and ensure documentation consistency
• Utilize developer-focused documentation formats such as Markdown and OpenAPI/Swagger
• Write and validate technical content related to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and APIs
• Employ Git/GitHub workflows including branching, reviews, linting, and CI/CD
• Develop diagrams and system visuals using tools like Mermaid, Visio, Figma, or draw.io
• Apply structured authoring methodologies, reusable components, metadata tagging, and taxonomy alignment
• Consider accessibility, compliance requirements, style automation, and content quality tooling
• Design and maintain documentation hierarchies, linking strategies, and navigation flows
• Define or use standardized templates and content models
• Simplify and reorganize content for clarity and user-centered orientation

Requirements:

• 7–10+ years of technical writing experience in software, cloud, or platform engineering environments
• 5+ years writing complex documentation including architecture guides and API references
• 3–5+ years working directly with engineering teams and product owners in agile or matrixed settings
• 3+ years contributing to or leading information architecture and documentation structure
• 2–3+ years reviewing and editing technically complex content, ensuring consistency and quality

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment
