2. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Technical Writer role is focused on owning and improving complex technical documentation related to the organization''s platform and products. The position involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and experts to ensure accurate and timely content delivery. This role contributes to shaping documentation strategies, enhancing AI-assisted content workflows, and ensuring documentation meets diverse user needs across their journey.
3. Responsibilities:
• Plan, write, and continuously improve technical documentation including configuration, deployment, integration, and query references.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather accurate technical information and manage review cycles.
• Lead documentation efforts tied to significant platform and product initiatives.
• Evaluate and optimize content for AI consumability and discoverability.
• Apply structured content approaches tailored to different audience needs and stages.
• Contribute to documentation standards, style guidelines, and peer reviews.
• Advocate for documentation requirements during product development planning.
• Pilot AI-assisted drafting tools, assessing output quality and defining verification processes.
• Support documentation platform replatforming by providing content and authoring expertise.
4. Requirements:
• Seven or more years of technical writing experience with a portfolio focused on developer-facing or data infrastructure documentation. Writing samples required.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and make informed content decisions.
• Experience managing documentation for complex SaaS, cloud, or data platform products.
• Proven skills in managing subject matter expert relationships and driving review processes.
• Proficiency with docs-as-code workflows including Git/GitHub, Markdown, and static site generators.
• Interest or experience in content architecture, structured authoring, and documentation platform tooling.
• Excellent written communication skills in US English.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong plus for familiarity with AI system documentation consumption or hands-on experience using large language models in content workflows.
• Nice to have: basic scripting or automation skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Pay range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000 USD.
• Compensation packages are influenced by candidate skills, experience, education, training, and location.
