🚨 Senior Technical Writer | Canberra | 12-Month Contract

📍 Location: Canberra, ACT

🕒 Contract: 12 Months

🔐 Eligibility: Australian Citizen | Baseline Clearance required/eligible

🏢 Work Arrangement: Minimum 1 day per week onsite

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer to support ICT infrastructure refresh, architecture documentation and IT asset management initiatives within a government environment.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Create, consolidate, update and maintain technical design documentation across multiple programs

• Work closely with Architects, SMEs, Project Managers and Asset Management specialists

• Develop conceptual and detailed system design documentation using established templates

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear content for technical and non-technical audiences

• Develop and maintain SOPs to support knowledge transfer and operational consistency

• Prepare governance-compliant documentation for boards, design authorities and change forums

• Apply documentation standards, version control and metadata requirements to ensure audit readiness

🔹 Key Skills & Experience

• Strong technical writing experience across ICT infrastructure, asset management or operational ICT

• Experience consolidating documentation across multiple business units and complex programs

• Understanding of ICT architecture artefacts, technical design diagrams and system configuration documentation

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Microsoft Visio

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and written/verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to documentation quality

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment

🔹 Desirable

• Experience with Jira / Confluence

• Understanding of ITIL or related qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification, certification or industry experience
