We're working with a leading energy tech platform that needs clear, consistent, customer-facing API documentation.

This isn't a writing role. The engineering teams own and write the docs. You set the standards that let them do it well, and do it fast.

What you'll do

• Define documentation standards and guardrails for the full API estate
• Shape an approach built around how customers actually use the APIs
• Work with the API Product Manager and key stakeholders to set direction early
• Get engineering teams moving quickly and able to sustain the docs on their own
• Build platform-agnostic standards (ClickHelp for now), with room to recommend better tooling

What you'll bring

• Senior technical authoring experience, with a strong focus on APIs
• A track record of setting documentation standards, not just following them
• Confidence working with engineers and getting them to buy in
• Familiarity with API specification standards (e.g. OpenAPI)
• Experience with docs platforms and tooling, ClickHelp a bonus
