We are currently looking for: Senior Ontologist
Requirements:
We are currently looking for a Senior Ontologist to join an international project, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of ontologies that support Knowledge Graph, semantic enrichment, data integration, and knowledge management initiatives.
Required Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ontology design, development, and semantic technologies
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining ontologies and taxonomies independently
- Expert knowledge of Semantic Web and W3C standards:
- RDF / RDFS
- OWL
- SKOS
- SHACL
- SPARQL
- Strong knowledge of Datalog or other inferencing rule languages
- Experience with standard serialization formats, including Turtle (TTL) and JSON-LD
- Experience analysing different data formats, including JSON and Excel, for semantic integration
- Experience with ontology development tools such as metaphactory and RDFox
- Strong experience with Git, including branching, merging, and reviewing ontology-related changes
- Knowledge of ontology and taxonomy development best practices and methodologies
- Ability to ensure semantic accuracy, consistency, and quality across ontology models
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- English proficiency – C1/C2

- Ability to analyse complex issues, evaluate trade-offs, and implement effective solutions
- Excellent attention to detail and semantic consistency
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

Location: European Union – Full Remote
Gross salary range
€3,800–€4,300 monthly
Note: Includes all components: Fixed, Variable, Meal Allowance, Remote Work, and Benefits.
