About the Role
Lead the Content Strategy team, translating business priorities, customer needs, and established brand direction into clear messaging and scalable content. Working within the broader strategy set by senior leadership, you'll set team priorities and partner with marketing, creative, communications, digital, technology, and operations teams to improve content effectiveness and customer understanding.
Responsibilities
- Turn business, brand, customer, and creative priorities into content plans, messaging frameworks, narratives, and audience-specific approaches.
- Advance messaging architecture, editorial strategy, voice and tone, taxonomy, information architecture, and content operations.
- Establish and improve messaging standards, editorial quality, and content governance while aligning competing stakeholder needs.
- Develop reusable content models, templates, modular frameworks, and lifecycle practices that support personalization and reduce duplication.
- Improve content across customer journeys, addressing communication gaps and maintaining consistency across channels.
- Coordinate messaging within the broader Idea, Message, and Expression model and present evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Define measures and feedback loops to improve messaging clarity, content quality, delivery, and customer or campaign outcomes.
- Lead and develop content strategists, copywriters, and editorial contributors; set objectives, allocate resources, and support succession and workforce planning.
- Improve intake, prioritization, planning, review, and resource management while balancing complex initiatives with emerging needs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Content Strategy, Editorial Strategy, Information Architecture, Messaging Strategy, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience leading content professionals, teams, or major content programs.
- Advanced knowledge of messaging architecture, content strategy, editorial practices, and audience communication.
- Experience developing messaging frameworks, applying content governance, and improving content processes, systems, and reusable models.
- Experience leading complex initiatives across functions, presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders, and influencing decisions without direct authority.
- Strong systems-thinking, planning, facilitation, and project-leadership capabilities.
- Experience working in complex, fast-changing environments.
- B2B technology marketing or customer communication strategy experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary varies by location:
- $132,232 - $176,310: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY.
- $138,844 - $185,124: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI.
- $145,456 - $193,940: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA.
Individual pay depends on skills, experience, location, and other relevant factors.
