2. About the Opportunity:
The Instructional Design and Technology Lead supports faculty in delivering high-quality courses by managing instructional technology and design processes. This role ensures courses meet institutional standards while facilitating the effective use of the learning management system and related tools. The position leads quality assurance, course updates, and collaboration with faculty and external consultants for program development and redesign initiatives. It also advances instructional technology practices and integrates emerging tools to improve teaching, learning, and course management.
3. Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary resource for faculty on instructional technologies including Canvas LMS, Panopto, Zoom, and MS Teams
- Provide troubleshooting and support for instructional technology issues, escalating as needed
- Support system integrations and coordinate course operations involving multiple platforms
- Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
- Monitor educational technology trends, including AI, and identify opportunities for responsible integration
- Assist in ensuring courses meet accessibility standards
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to prepare courses for student access each quarter
- Maintain course structures in Canvas in line with institutional standards and best practices
- Coordinate and implement course updates with faculty and program directors
- Monitor course readiness and address technical or structural issues proactively
- Provide instructional design guidance on course organization, learning activities, and assessments
- Help faculty translate expertise into student-centered course materials
- Deliver faculty training and workshops on instructional technology and course design
- Support major course updates or redesign efforts
- Lead the Instructional Support Team
- Liaise with external instructional design consultants for new program development and redesign projects
- Integrate externally developed materials into the LMS consistent with standards
- Collaborate with academic leadership to enhance course quality, accessibility, and technology use
4. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or related field
- Experience supporting instructional design, educational technology, or course development in higher education
- Proficiency with Canvas learning management system
- Experience supporting faculty use of instructional technologies such as Canvas, CidiLabs Multitool, Panopto, Zoom, Turnitin, Respondus, Panorama
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to translate technical and instructional design concepts into practical faculty guidance
- Familiarity with emerging educational technologies, including AI-supported tools
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
- Experience with online or hybrid healthcare education programs
- Familiarity with multimedia platforms such as Panopto or similar lecture capture tools
- Experience implementing accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2)
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
