About the Role
We are looking for an Instructional Designer to join Uptale's APAC team in Singapore.
This role is focused on the design and production of immersive learning content. You will work directly with APAC clients and internal Customer Success teams to turn approved training concepts and learning materials into high-quality immersive experiences, using 360°, VR, POV video and AI Roleplay.
Your work will cover the full content-production journey, from storyboarding and filming through to module creation, review and final delivery.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is strong in instructional design, has solid video experience, and is excited by immersive learning and AI technologies. As you will work on site with clients across the region, occasional travel within APAC is required.
Your Mission
Instructional Design
- Develop immersive module storyboards based on client content, learning materials, SOPs and approved training objectives.
- Structure content into clear learning journeys, scenes, activities, interactions and assessments.
- Choose the right immersive format for each learning need: 360°, VR, POV video or AI Roleplay.
- Design realistic AI Roleplay scenarios to help learners practise conversations and soft skills.
- Ensure each module follows sound instructional design principles and has a clear narrative flow.
- Adapt storyboards based on client and SME feedback.
- Design appropriate quizzes, knowledge checks, scenario-based activities and assessments.
- Test, validate and continuously improve the quality of immersive experiences.
Filming & Media Production
- Plan filming requirements based on the storyboards and learning experience.
- Conduct 360° and 2D filming for immersive learning modules.
- Review filmed footage and carry out basic media preparation and coordination before integration into Uptale.
- Work with clients and SMEs during filming to ensure the required learning content is captured accurately.
Note: you do not need to be a professional videographer or to have 360° experience, but you must have hands-on video experience and a genuine interest in filming. You will be expected to run quality 360° and 2D shoots on client sites.
Client Enablement & Support
- Train and coach clients on how to use the Uptale platform.
- Support project teams and Customer Success Managers in ensuring the success of client projects.
- Contribute to the creation of user resources, guides and tutorials.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Proactively suggest improvements to our internal methods, tools and processes, including new ways to use AI in content design.
- Participate in cross-functional projects involving learning, technology and creativity.
Preferred Experience
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Digital Learning, Multimedia, Educational Technology or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in instructional design or learning-content development.
- Experience creating storyboards for digital or multimedia learning.
- Familiarity with e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate or similar authoring tools.
- Hands-on experience in video filming and production (360° not required), with the ability to deliver quality footage on client sites.
- Experience with VR, 360° content, immersive learning or AI-based learning tools is an advantage, but not required.
- Professional English proficiency.
Skills & Qualities

- Able to turn complex content into a clear and structured learner journey.
- Knowledge of camera positioning, scene planning and shot requirements, or a strong willingness to learn.
- A real appetite for video, comfortable using cameras and learning new media-production and AI tools.
- Comfortable working directly with clients and subject matter experts.

Salary: S$3,500 to S$4,500 per month, depending on experience

- A final interview with the founders.
