What you'll be doing

You’ll develop and amend Defence technical publications, such as EMEIs, ANPs, translating engineering, maintenance and logistics information into clear, accurate and practical documentation. Working closely with engineers and other technical SMEs, you’ll resolve technical queries and ensure publications align with validated source data, maintenance concepts, certification requirements and approved configurations. You’ll manage document reviews, comments, corrective actions and approvals, maintaining accuracy, traceability and configuration control throughout the process.

You're probably the right person if you:

·        Have experience in technical writing, technical publications or engineering documentation.

o  Logistics Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Training Development experience will be highly regarded

·        Have exposure to Defence or Defence Industry environments.

o  Genuine practical experience working with technical equipment, systems, processes or assets, enabling the development of accurate, user-focused technical documentation will be highly regarding.

·        Have some understanding of ILS/IPS or are keen to develop in this area.

o  Understanding of S1000D, MIL-STD-13882B, and DEF(AUST) 5691/5692 will be highly regarded

·        Can interpret technical information and communicate it clearly.

·        Have strong attention to detail and understand the importance of configuration control and traceability.

·        Work confidently with engineers and technical SMEs.

·        Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

·        Must be Australian citizen and hold or be able to hold an active Australian Government Baseline Defence Security Clearance.

o  Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications or experience in technical writing, engineering, maintenance, logistics or technical information management.

Highly regarded qualifications include:

• Certificate IV in a relevant maintenance or technical discipline.
• TLIX0028X – Develop technical publications to support integrated logistics.
• TLIX0031X – Provide maintenance engineering support in a Defence integrated logistics environment.
• TLIX0032X – Undertake configuration management to support integrated logistics.
• TLIX0034X – Undertake supply support in integrated logistics.
