Digital Designer & Ecommerce Creative

Location: Lancashire - Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)

Salary: £36,000–£40,000 + performance bonus

The Opportunity

Stockford Recruitment is working with a growing ecommerce technology business in Lancashire to recruit a Digital Designer & Ecommerce Creative.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded designer who wants more ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to develop their skills within ecommerce, UX and conversion optimisation.

You do not need to be an expert across every area from day one.

The priority is finding somebody with strong digital design fundamentals, good commercial awareness and the ability to consistently produce high-quality creative work. You'll ideally also have a genuine interest in technology, IT, gaming, hardware or other technical products.

You'll work closely with ecommerce, product and commercial teams to improve how products are presented and sold online, while helping shape the wider creative direction of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Creating digital and ecommerce designs across product, category and landing pages
• Producing engaging creative assets for web, email, social and paid campaigns
• Helping maintain and evolve a consistent visual identity across digital channels
• Using Figma or similar tools to design customer-facing digital experiences
• Working with ecommerce and commercial teams to improve the online buying journey
• Supporting technical and commercial content including product messaging, buying guides and ecommerce copy
• Developing a more data-informed approach to design using customer behaviour and performance insights
• Supporting A/B testing and conversion optimisation initiatives
• Helping develop reusable design systems and templates
• Supporting photography, video and other creative content where required
• Mentoring and working alongside a junior Design & Content Apprentice
• Taking ownership of creative projects from initial brief through to delivery

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in somebody with:

• Strong digital, graphic or ecommerce design experience
• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality commercial digital work
• Good understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy and brand consistency
• Experience with Figma or similar digital design tools
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite experience is also welcomed
• Commercial awareness and an understanding that design should ultimately support customer engagement and revenue
• Confidence managing projects and taking ownership of your workload
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different teams
• An interest in developing further into UX, CRO and ecommerce optimisation
• Genuine curiosity around technology and technical products

Experience within ecommerce, retail, technology or B2B environments would be particularly useful.

Any exposure to the following would be beneficial, but you don't need to tick every box:

• Magento, Shopify or another ecommerce platform
• Ecommerce UX/UI
• Figma component libraries or design systems
• GA4 or Microsoft Clarity
• CRO and A/B testing
• SEO or ecommerce content
• Mailchimp or another email platform
• HTML/CSS
• Video editing or motion graphics
• Product photography
• Technology, IT hardware, gaming or electronics
