The Technical Writer develops and maintains the operational manuals / process and procedures and across the Operational Division. The role makes documentation clear, standardised and aligned with actual ways of working and with regulatory requirements.

The Technical Writer authors and publishers' content through the Document Management System and converts legacy documents into structured procedures supported by visual process maps.


Accountabilities:

  • Accuracy, clarity and usability of assigned technical documentation.
  • Implement Safety Management System (SMS) systems and processes and encourages colleagues to be actively involved in promotion of a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risks.
  • Familiar with, enforces and follows the procedures stipulated in the Safety and Compliance Monitoring Manual (SCMM) and becomes an active participant in the workplace safety program.


Authorities:

  • Coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain the technical information needed to develop documentation.
  • Author and edit assigned documents within the Document Management System.
  • Propose updates or corrections to existing operational manuals


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Operational manuals across the Operation Division.
  • Convert legacy documentation into structured operational
  • Create accurate PDF / HTML / XML versions of all Operational Documentation to ensure printed and electronic documents are of a consistent high quality
  • Construct, maintain and update standard templates for all manuals and publications.
  • Author, format and publish operational content in the Document Management System in line with defined standards and templates.
  • Ensure documentation complies with the Operation Division’s documentation standards and templates.
  • Work with SMEs to capture technical knowledge and operational procedures.
  • Ensure documentation reflects approved operational practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the periodic review and update of Operations documentation.
  • Keep documentation clear, concise and accessible to operational teams.
  • Update documentation following operational changes or process improvements.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of technical documentation principles and structured authoring.
  • Basic understanding of airline operations.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and digital publishing of technical content.

Skills

  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to turn technical input into clear procedures and visual process maps.
  • High standard of computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications.

Training

  • Safety Management System (SMS) training.
  • Human Factors training.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience producing Operations documentation in aviation or Flight Ops environments

  • Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME)
  • Joint Procedures Manual (CAMO & Part-145)
  • Mass & Balance System Documentation (Weighing Reports, Trim Sheets)
  • Dangerous Goods Procedures
  • Minimum Equipment List (MEL)
  • Ground Operations Manual (GOM)
  • Dispatch Manual (including Dispatcher Training Material)
  • Dangerous Goods Emergency Response Guide
