Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Senior Technical Writer to fill an open position with one of our clients in the financial services industry. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the knowledge foundation for enterprise AI agents by creating high-quality technical content that powers intelligent automation. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional technical writing skills with strong information architecture expertise to develop structured, reusable documentation that enables both engineers and AI systems to operate effectively.


A Little About This Gig

  • Author and maintain structured technical documentation, including runbooks, technical manuals, specifications, glossaries, standards, and knowledge articles consumed by production AI agents.
  • Develop and manage taxonomy, metadata, vocabulary, and information architecture to ensure documentation is discoverable, accurate, and optimized for both human and AI consumption.
  • Partner with engineers, architects, and governance teams to capture technical knowledge, document engineering standards, and maintain version-controlled content throughout its lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain AI prompt assets, agent instructions, and reusable knowledge components while ensuring documentation remains current, validated, and aligned with enterprise standards.


The Ideal Candidate

  • 5–7 years of technical writing experience, including 3–4 years of document control and technical documentation in software, platform, or infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience authoring technical manuals, standards, specifications, runbooks, and other engineering-focused documentation from primary technical sources.
  • Strong expertise in taxonomy development, controlled vocabularies, information architecture, cross-linking, and content organization.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, architects, and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with version-controlled documentation, structured content, and engineering documentation workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize complex technical information into concise, accurate, and reusable documentation.
  • Experience with Markdown, Model Context Protocol (MCP), YAML, Git-based documentation workflows, AI prompt authoring, or LLM-based systems is highly desirable.
